MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Morgantown woman is in custody for allegedly fleeing from police in Morgantown while under the influence of meth.
Officers with the Morgantown Police Department arrested Tiffany Farley, 48, after they observed a dark-colored Hyundai Sonata stopped in the roadway in the area of Deckers Creek Boulevard at around 9:36 p.m. Sunday night.
According to a criminal complaint, Farley allegedly sped off after officers exited their patrol vehicle and nearly struck another vehicle while she merged right onto Earl L. Core Road.
While in pursuit, Farley allegedly turned left onto Hartman Run Road and began to accelerate rapidly and nearly struck more parked vehicles around the Woodland Terrace trailer park after she then turned right onto Everlasting Drive before entering the trailer park.
According to officers, MECCA 911 informed them that the vehicle had been entered into NCIC, linked to a missing person. Due to the woman driving the vehicle not being the same race as the missing person, officers said they “believed the female to possibly be a suspect in a possible kidnapping from another jurisdiction.”
At about 10:40 p.m. that same evening, MECAA 911 received a call from a woman who described a woman matching Farley’s description who was complaining of rib pain in the 1500 block of North Willey Street. Farley was later identified and arrested by officers called to the scene after she attempted to enter a vehicle at a nearby intersection.
According to a criminal complaint, Farley admitted to “consuming Methamphetamine” at about 8 p.m. that night, and she “believed it was laced with something.”
Farley has been charged with fleeing DUI. She is being held in North Central Regional Jail.
