Marion County couple charged after police investigation

MANNINGTON, W.Va. — Two Marion County residents have been charged after West Virginia State Police found two juveniles living in unsafe conditions with drugs in the home.

Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department reported the home on Flaggy Meadow Road had no utilities, smelled strongly of animals and feces, trash, dirty laundry, and drug paraphernalia.

Ryan Ledsome, 39, and Jessica Riggs, 37, were found in the home with a blue plastic egg containing 4.01 grams of fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with several bags containing psychedelic mushrooms. Police also found separate bags containing prescription medicine.

Police said Ledsome admitted he and Riggs planned to sell the drugs. Ledsome allegedly also said they had sold drugs in the past with the children in the home.

Ledsome and Riggs have been charged with possession of a controlled substance and two counts of child neglect creating risk of injury.

Both are each being held on a $150,000 bond in the North Central Regional Jail.
