MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A WVU Hospitals employee has been fired after a second recording device was found inside a bathroom amidst an ongoing investigation.
A spokesperson from WVU Hospitals released the following statement:
“On Tuesday, June 30, a WVU Hospitals facilities team member responding to reports of a clogged toilet discovered a second recording device had been flushed down a non-public, staff restroom at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. The second camera has been turned over to law enforcement, and based on the information the information we have been able to gather to date, a termination notice has been sent to the identified employee. We will continue to work with law enforcement and the Monongalia County Prosecutor’s Office as the investigation continues.”
The name of the employee has not been released.
