Minor injuries reported in Cheat Lake Backwaters crash Wednesday

CHEAT LAKE, W.Va. — Special teams from Granville assisted West Virginia State Police at the scene of a crash in the Backwaters area of Cheat Lake Wednesday.

Troopers said an SUV pulled over to allow another vehicle to pass when to hillside gave way. The SUV then rolled about 30 feet down the hill and into the water.

Members of the Granville Fire and Police Dive Team and Doug’s Towing were able to recover the SUV. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle under his own power with minor injuries.
