Popular swim beaches closed in Braxton County

SUTTON, W.Va. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has shutdown two popular swimming areas on SuttonĀ  and Burnsville Lakes until further notice.

The swimming beaches at Bee Run and the Bulltown Day Use Area were shutdown Friday following unacceptable water quality tests by the Braxton County Health Department.

The Corps made the announcement via social media, but offered no further information about the water quality issues.

The post indicated water quality testing would continue and the beaches would be closed until those levels reached an acceptable level.
