BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Mobile showers and laundry services are now available in Buckhannon and Weston thanks to a $500,000 pledge by Walmart.
“The $500,000 commitment will help address immediate needs, cleanup efforts and relief across the state,” a release from Walmart stated. “This also includes donated truckloads of food and essential items to local organizations, including the Buckhannon Fire Department and Mountaineer Food Bank, and other local organizations.”
The Buckhannon location is at the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter. Meanwhile, the Weston Donation Center across from the Walmart Supercenter is the hub for mobile showers, laundry services, and more.
Assitionally, Walmart Disaster Relief is also at the location serving meals and bottled water with Operation BBQ.
Walmart officials said the relief effort is in collaboration with Matthew 25: Ministries, Tide Loads of Hope, Walmart and Procter & Gamble.
The Buckhannon store, pharmacy, and Vision Center have reopened for customers. Currently, online pickup and delivery and the Auto Care Center are unavailable.
