Ohio County circuit clerk announces retirement

WHEELING, W.Va. — Ohio County Circuit Clerk Brenda Miller has announced her retirement.

Miller told WTOV-TV she’s retiring because changes in county government have made her job harder.

“We’re elected to do our job and run our offices, but when you don’t have complete control over that, it makes it a lot more difficult,” she told WTOV. “And it doesn’t look quite as good for the employees as it should. So, I’m hoping that my replacement can fit in with the other elected officials and maybe get back on a team schedule.”

Ohio County’s four circuit judges will name Miller’s replacement until the position can be filled following the 2028 election.
