Morgantown man accused of sharing child pornography

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A 20-year-old Morgantown man is facing charges after police allege he used a social media platform to share child pornography.

Garrett Highlander (WVRJA)

West Virginia State Police said Garrett Highlander used Discord to share images of child pornography.

Troopers began their investigation after multiple tips were received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Information from the NCMEC said Highlander bragged openly about his large inventory of child pornography.

Highlander has been charged with possession of material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Investigators said Highlander was found with 50 to 300 images of child pornography.
