MASON, W.Va. — State police say a Point Pleasant man was found dead in the back seat of a spare police cruiser in the town of Mason Tuesday.
A state police news release said Gregory Roush, 55, drove to the Mason Police Department on Sunday, got out of his vehicle and into the parked Chevy Tahoe belonging to Mason PD.
A family friend spotted Roush’s vehicle in the parking lot on Tuesday. Mason Police Chief Colton McKinney checked surveillance video and it showed Roush getting into the cruiser.
State police also reviewed the video.
Roush’s body has been taken to the state Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. No foul play is suspected in his death, state police said.
The investigation is continuing.
