Injuries minor after Wyoming County bus crash

WYOMING COUNTY, W.Va. — Only minor injuries in a crash which involved a Wyoming County school bus.

The accident happened Friday afternoon in an area of the county called Huff Consolidated School area. Wyoming County Schools posted to social media the bus was 252 from the school.

Students on the bus were evaluated by first responders and once cleared released to the custody of their parents at the site of the accident.

School officials gave no indication of what happened in the accident or whether any other vehicles were involved.

School Principal Justin Endicott in a Facebook post after the accident said all students had been evaluated and there were only minor injuries, although he did not specify the nature of those injuries or how many students were hurt. Endicott also thanked First Responders who helped check out each child on the bus.

“Everybody was on scene and making sure that everyone was taken care of,” said Endicott. “Looking back you never want that situation to happen, but how wonderful it is to have such a close knit crew. When something happens like this that’s out of our control we all come together and work together.”

One parent posted to social media that her young son was taken to the hospital and had a concussion, but a CT scan showed he was okay.
