Class action lawsuit filed over Brooke hidden cameras

WELLSBURG, W.Va. — A Class Action lawsuit has been filed following the discovery of four hidden cameras in the girls’ dressing areas of Brooke High School.

The Fitzsimmons law firm from Wheeling filed the suit Friday afternoon. The suit named the school’s principal Eric James and the Brooke County Board of Education. James is jailed on charges tied to the incident and could face additional charges as the investigation continues.

The cameras were discovered by a janitor and reported to law enforcement.  A sweep of the building revealed a total of four cameras in three separate dressing rooms of the school. Investigators confirmed there is footage of at least two high school girls undressing on the cameras. There is also footage according to investigators of James placing and adjusting the camera angle.

The cameras are being analyzed by the state crime lab in Morgantown. Once the analysis is complete, law enforcement plans to hold a meeting with concerned parents to determine how many victims were captured undressing by the cameras.
