CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the man killed in a wreck on Interstate 79 late Friday night.
Deputies said Thomas Edward Wines, 47, of Charleston, drove his pick-up truck into a work zone lane just south of the Elkview exit striking a parked dump truck.
Wines was ejected from his truck and died at the scene.
The truck drifted back into the traffic lane and was struck by a southbound passenger vehicle. The two people in that vehicle were not injured.
The sheriff’s office accident reconstruction team continues its investigation into the collision.
