Jury deliberations set for Monday in Wood County murder trial

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Jury deliberations begin Monday in a Wood County murder trial.

Gregory Casto is charged with first degree murder and concealment of a dead body in connection with the 2014 death of Cindy Ball. Casto was charged last year, 11 years after the victim’s death.

Witnesses testified Friday of a rocky relationship between Casto and Ball. Some of the witnesses told the jury of seeing Casto point a gun Ball on different occasions.

Defense attorneys argued prosecutors have a weak case based on circumstantial evidence.

The 12-member jury heard closing arguements Friday with deliberations scheduled to begin Monday morning.
