MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A tentative agreement has been reached between WVU Hospitals and the union representing more than 900 service workers, avoiding a work stoppage at the end of the year.
WAJR-AM first reported Monday night that the day’s negotiations were successful and a tentative Collective Bargaining Agreement was reached with theLaborers’ International Union of North America Local 814. Union membership is expected to vote on the new contract next week.
The current contract is set to expire Saturday at midnight. The union and WVU Hospitals have agreed to extend the current contract beyond the expiration date to allow for time to ratify the new deal.
