CHARLESTON, W.Va — West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey will hold a fundraiser for his Senate campaign Monday in New York City.
Roll Call’s Simone Pathé reported Friday the event with Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest son, is aimed at retiring debt left from the May primary election.
Trump Jr. took part in a fundraiser last month in Charleston.
Morrisey trails U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., in recent polls as well as campaign funds; the Manchin campaign announced earlier this month it raised $1.5 million in the second quarter with $6.2 million cash on hand, compared to the Morrisey campaign‘s $1.3 million in raised funds with $895,000 cash on hand.
Politico reported Thursday One Nation, a conservative group associated with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., stopped a $750,000 advertisement campaign aimed at Manchin for his positions on immigration.
