NITRO, W.Va. — A three-year-old boy died Wednesday evening after accidentally shooting himself in the head.
The incident happened in the 1300 block of Main Avenue in Nitro, according to Nitro police.
Investigators said the boy’s father left the firearm out because he was planning to go somewhere with the gun.
The child was rushed to the hospital after the shooting but died a short tim later.
Police are continuing their investigation.
