RONCEVERTE, W.Va. — The body of a Monroe County man has been recovered from the Greenbrier River in Greenbrier County.
The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department reported the body of Shawn Carter, 43, of Union, W.Va. was found in the water a quarter mile south of the confluence of Second Creek and the Greenbrier River.
Deputies and the Ronceverte Volunteer Fire Department were called to the scene around 6 p.m. Wednesday when the discovery was reported.
Carter’s vehicle was found not far from the same location. Deputies say at this time foul play is not suspected in his death.
