The West Virginia International Auto Show opens on Friday in the Capitol City. The show is held each year at the Charleston Civic Center.
West Virginia Auto and Truck Dealers Association President Ruth Lemmon says the latest vehicles will be on display along with some classics.
“We’ll have the golden oldies. We’ll have some of the older cars that they can go look at. I just saw them bringing a 1957 Chevrolet up on the crane,” Lemmon said on Wednesday’s MetroNews Talkline.
On Friday, MetroNews Talkline will originate from the West Virginia International Auto Show.
Major domestic and import manufacturers will be represented.
Some of the newer vehicles that will be on display include the Chevrolet Spark, Dodge Dar, Ford C-MAX, Honda Civic, Hyundai Santa Fe, Lincoln MKZ, Subaru XV Crosstrek, Scion FR-S and the Toyota Prius C.
Luxury vehicles will cover 15,000 square feet of space on the second floor of the Civic Center, while electric vehicles, including the Chevrolet Volt and Nissan LEAF, will be in another area.
“It’s not just about autos,” Lemmon said. “It’s about family entertainment and, certainly, this weekend this is the place to be because we expect the weather to not be too pleasant.”
The hours for the West Virginia International Auto Show are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The admission price is $8 for adults and $6 for senior citizens with free admission for kids under a certain age. Sunday is Family Day.
