Woman escapes serious injury after car hit by train

A Kanawha County woman says the warning lights at a CSX crossing in eastern Kanawha County weren’t working when she drove across the tracks Friday morning. She almost didn’t make it.

A southbound CSX train struck the back of the car at the crossing in the town of Pratt. The woman suffered a minor injury. The car was totaled.

CSX workers arrived on the scene and checked the warning system and said it was working.
