Bail reduced for Buckwild’s Amin

A Nicholas County magistrate has cut in half the bail amount for jailed “Buckwild” cast member Salwa Amin.

The 24-year-old Charleston woman was arrested in Nicholas County Sunday night on drug charges. Her bail was originally set at $200,000 but a magistrate reduced the amount to $100,000 when Amin waived her preliminary hearing Wednesday. The reduction was approved by the magistrate after reviewing an agreed-to order signed by Amin’s attorney and Nicholas County Prosecutor P.K. Milam.

Her case will next be taken up by the Nicholas County grand jury.

Amin was still an inmate at the Central Regional Jail in Flatwoods Wednesday afternoon.

Amin was arrested along with Shawn Booker, 42, of Detroit and Jason Jones of Summersville, 31. All three are charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs and three counts of conspiracy.

Booker has also waived his preliminary hearing sending the charges to circuit court.
