Suspect arrested for racist messages painted on Williamson flood wall

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — Mingo County deputies have made an arrest in a vandalism case which sparked outrage in the local community.

Daniel Kozee, 36, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of destruction of property. Investigators claim he is responsible for racists messages painted on the flood wall in Williamson.

The message was first noticed on Thursday near First Avenue. A $1,000 reward was offered by the city for information leading to an arrest and conviction of those responsible.
