Arrests made in McDowell murders

WELCH, W.Va. — Two McDowell County men are dead and two more are charged in connection with their deaths.

State Police arrested Donald Bailey of Crumpler and Troy Justice of Panther Monday and charged them in the murders of Brandon Church, 21, of Iaeger and Clinton Mullins, 46, of Garland.

Troopers discovered Church and Mullins’ bodies in a burned out vehicle near Panther early Sunday morning along Long Pole Creek in McDowell County. Initially it was believed the pair died in a motor vehicle accident. However, troopers discovered both men had been shot and the car was subsequently set on fire.

Troopers uncovered information which led them to Bailey and Justice.  Bailey is charged with two counts of first degree murder, third degree arson, and conspiracy.  Justice is charged with two counts of accessory to murder, third degree arson, and conspiracy.
