Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department seeks bank robber

INWOOD, W.Va. — The investigation into a bank robbery at the My Bank First United Bank and Trust in Inwood that took place yesterday continues.

Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department are searching for a suspect who entered the bank at 10:00am, pointed a gun at one of the tellers, then left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police say the suspect shot the door multiple times in an attempt to escape the scene.

Berkeley County Sheriff Kenny Lemaster believes someone should have some details about the getaway car they can share with investigators.

“He almost got t-boned when he pulled out of the bank,” Lemaster said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 50’s weighing between 170 and 175 pounds and standing between 5 foot 6 inches and 5 foot 8 inches tall.

Lemaster says the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

Any information can be called in to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department at (304) 267-7000.
