One of the state’s top Division 1 hoop recruits is reclassifying for 2020. Fairmont Senior’s Jalen Bridges will enter prep school following his final season at FSHS.
Bridges released the following statement on Twitter:
“After talking with my family, my coaches, my trainers, and close family friends, we’ve came to a decision that we think is best for me and my future. I would like to say thank you to all of the coaches that have recruited me throughout this process. With that being said, I’m excited to announce that following this season at Fairmont Senior, I will be reclassifying to the class of 2020 and attending the prep school that I choose. Without God, this wouldn’t be even possible. Thank you.”
The rising senior has won a pair of state titles at Fairmont Senior, advancing to the state championship game in three consecutive seasons. He earned first-team All-State honors as a junior, alongside teammates Zyon Dobbs and future WVU Mountaineer Taevon Horton.
Bridges has been offered scholarships from twenty Division 1 schools: Canisius, Drake, Drexel, Hofstra, IUPUI, Howard, James Madison, Marshall, NC-Greensboro, Northern Kentucky, Old Dominion, Ohio, Penn State, Robert Morris, Samford, Temple, UT-Martin, Tulane, Western Carolina and Youngstown State.
