Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office adds 3 K9s

BECKLEY, W.Va. — The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office now has three new K9s.

The county recently acquired two new narcotics apprehension tracking K9s named Clutch and Cody. They also have a new trailing bloodhound named Trigger.

All three were recently acquired by the county and have successfully completed their training. K9 Supervisor Sgt. William Killen says this makes seven K9s total in the department and they are helpful in day to day operations.

“They’re giving us the upper hand. It’s another tool in our toolbox to be able to fight the war on the drugs, to be able to fight the war on crime. When you have a burglary, when you have a missing person.”

The department got the new bloodhound puppy after Sgt. Randy White had to retire his bloodhound.
