Accused child rapist captured in Nicholas County

SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. — A North Carolina man wanted for allegedly raping a five-year-old was captured in Summersville Wednesday.

Michael Brandon Bryan, 37, of Cove City, North Carolina was arrested Wednesday without incident, according to the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Office.

Bryan was charged with statutory rape of a child and felony statutory sex offense involving a child he was babysitting.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Fugitive and Missing Person Task Force, West Virginia State Police, the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Office and the Summersville Police Department assisted the Craven County, North Carolina Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
