TAZEWELL, VA — A Bluefield, West Virginia woman has been charged with the murder of a man who died in Bluefield, Virginia, after overdosing on heroin and fentanyl.

Brieanna Marshe Walker, 26, is accused in the death of William Keith Wilson of Tazewell County, Virginia, whose body was found inside his vehicle after he allegedly purchased drugs from Walker, who also is facing charges of dealing Schedule I and Schedule II controlled substances.

Evidence presented to a grand jury by the Tazewell County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office reportedly includes text messages indicating Walker was involved in a drug transaction with Wilson shortly before he was discovered slumped over inside his pickup truck.

An autopsy report stated Wilson died of acute fentanyl and acetylfentanyl poisoning.

Investigators said Walker had some of Wilson’s personal items in her possession as collateral in the alleged drug deal, at the time of her arrest.

Under Virginia law, a person can be convicted of second degree murder in a fatal drug overdose case, whether or not the death was an intentional act by the accused.

The Mercer County Probation Office, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and the Mercer County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office assisted Virginia officials in the investigation.
