Kanawha County reports additional day care workers test positive for coronavirus

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department said Saturday that two additional day care workers had tested positive for the coronavirus.

The positive tests came from recent drive-thru testing events in Kanawha County. There have now been a total of six day care workers to test positive in recent days. The first four were not showing symptoms of the virus.

Gov. Jim Justice issued an executive order earlier this week requiring testing of all day care workers along with residents and staff at the 91 licensed assisted living facilities in West Virginia.

The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department has additional testing events scheduled for next week.
