Logan County Schools starting school year with remote lessons

LOGAN, W.Va. — Students in Logan County will start the school year with remote lessons due to the high rate of coronavirus cases in the county.

The Logan County Board of Education on Wednesday approved a plan to have remote lessons through at least the month of September.

Logan County is the only county in the state with 25 or more coronavirus cases per 100,000 people. According to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, the local rate is 41 cases per 100,000 people.

Schools across the state will begin lessons on Sept. 8.
