Former Jefferson County sheriff dies

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — Former Jefferson County Sheriff and Ranson Police Chief Ed Boober has died.

Morgan County Sheriff K.C. Bohrer confirmed the death on social media and offered his condolences this morning, calling Boober “a great brother in blue.”

In addition to serving as the sheriff and police chief, Boober was a retired police officer from Washington, DC.
