IRONTON, OH — A Huntington man convicted on charges of attacking an Ohio elementary school principal was sentenced Thursday to a multi-year prison term.

Joshua Collins, 43, was sentenced to up to 45 years behind bars after being convicted on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, felonious assault and having a deadly weapon in a school zone.
Collins attacked and stabbed South Point Elementary School Principal Bill Christian last October inside the school.
Collins had been “upset over a child custody issue” when he entered the school that day and went by the front office. They said Christian met Collins in the hall outside the office and Collins pulled a knife from his pocket as the two men were talking and stabbed Christian in the neck and upper torso.
Christian testified against Collins during his trial.
