Two men charged in Glenville stabbing

GLENVILLE, W.Va. — State police have charged two men in connection with a fight last month on the Glenville State University campus.

Troopers arrested Tyler Lee Anderson, 22, of Charleston, in the Capital City Wednesday. He’s charged with malicious assault and battery after an investigation into a May 11 fight.

Troopers said Anderson and Devan Gauldin, 22, of Prosperity, got into a fight near Goodwin Hall. Both men went to the ground and Anderson stabbed Gauldin with a knife. Troopers said witnesses told them Anderson tried dispose of the knife in a drain after the fight.

Both men face charges. Gauldin was charged with battery after he was released from the hospital.

“This appears to have been an isolated incident. At no time was there any indication of a broader threat to students, faculty, or staff at Glenville State University,” state police said.
