Marion County man charged after pursuit with deputies

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A Rivesville man has been charged after leading deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department on a pursuit Thursday.

Deputies attempted to stop Andrew Bell, 58, on Route 19 but refused. When deputies tried to block his escape, Bell swerved to get around them, lost control, and left the highway, regained control, and continued.

During the maneuver, police said innocent motorists were forced off the road.

Bell nearly hit one deputy before turning onto Pharaoh’s Run Road and was apprehended at a camping trailer on a dead-end road.

Deputies used a taser during the arrest.

Bell has been charged with fleeing with reckless indifference and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond.
