WILLIAMSTOWN, W.Va. — A state-to-state truck driver is in jail in West Virginia after he allegedly had an ongoing sexual relationship with a 16-year-old Wood County girl he met online.
It’s alleged William Santos, 38, of Webb City, Missouri, met the girl several months ago and would park at the West Virginia Welcome Center off of Interstate 77 near Williamstown when driving his 18- wheeler through the area. Willamstown police said Santos would unload his car that he was hauling. go pick-up the girl and have sexual relations with her.
He also allegedly recorded some of the encounters.
Santos was arrested in Oklahoma this week and extradited to West Virginia to face charges.
He’s in the North Central Regional Jail on $450,000 charged with 11 counts of distributing and exhibiting sexually explicit pornography and one count alleging solicitation of a minor.
Authorities said the investigation began in early January when the girl was reported and found in the cab of Santos’ truck at the welcome center.
