UPDATE 3/13/2026 9:00 –An arrest has been made in connection to a homicide investigation in Calhoun County.
Mickey Case Carter, 26, has been charged with first degree murder. Carter is accused of shooting Emily Metheny, 29. The body was discovered at a residence near the community of Chloe early Friday morning.
The investigation is ongoing.
CHLOE, W.Va. — State police in Calhoun County are treating a woman’s death as a homicide.
Troopers said the body of Emily Metheny, 29, was discovered at a residence near the community of Chloe early Friday morning.
State police said, “The investigation is currently ongoing. At this time, there is no reason to believe there is any continuing threat to the public.”
