State police: Woman missing since Sunday found dead near Elkins

ELKINS, W.Va. — A woman being treated for mental issues who went missing Sunday has been found not far from where she was last seen in the Elkins area.

Gabrielle Allen, 64, of Vienna, was last seen Sunday after she went missing from her Rolling Lane home in Elkins walking along Route 219 just after midnight.

Allen was found deceased Wednesday night around 7:30 on private property by the landowner conducting maintenance. The location she was found was along an old log road off Route 219 not far from where she was reported missing.

No other information has been released at this time.

Allen was staying with her caregivers at the time of her disappearance.
