CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The 56th annual West Virginia Home Show is underway at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
This year’s three-day event began Friday with 130 vendors gathering in the Capital City. The diverse assortment of vendors represented many elements of home and property improvement, financial assistance, and much more.
Home Show chairperson Stephanie Ramsey said it’s great to get the event started.
“We are super excited. This is our 56th year, and I’ve been a part of the Home Show for a few years now, so it’s very exciting. Of course, we can’t do it without our team of people at the Homebuilders Association of Greater Charleston. It’s a team effort. We have many, many exhibitors [this year]. All of our home builders, and people that are coming in to renovate homes, we have windows, to landscaping, to generators, all the things.”
The first 100 people that arrived to kick off the event Friday afternoon received free admission.
Greg Paxton, owner of Mr. Handyman of Kanawha Valley, said there was great anticipation ahead of this year’s show.
“It is so exciting, I was setting up this morning, I looked out the door and so many people were lined up even before the doors opened,” Paxton said. “I got so excited that there was excitement in the community to come out and see what we’re doing at the Home Show this weekend.”
There are many regular vendors back for this year’s event. Riverscapes Outdoor Living and Excavation owner Josh Humphreys is one of them.
“We’ve done the Home Show every year that we’ve been in business,” Humphreys said. “We win one of the best show awards every year. It’s just a lot of fun. It’s a lot of fun to meet people, and then to try and make some new clients, make some new friends.”
Tim Hogan’s Design senior tile specialist Elizabeth Bishop said showcasing the company’s work at the Home Show is rewarding.
“We put a lot of work into what came into today’s booth, and what we do every day, is a lot of work and team effort,” Bishop said. It’s good to get people out there. I’m newer to the company, and it’s a good way for people to see where I am and what’s going on and what we’re doing here, making a difference.”
Paxton expressed that this weekend is all about the customer.
“This three-day event, we want to talk to as many people that stop by our booth and start talking about their vision, and then it’s all about them,” Paxton said. “We want to be part of that vision, and we want to be part of that solution. That’s [what] we’re looking for here at this Home Show.”
Those interested in attending the Home Show will see a familiar face.
Popular vendor Troy Stiffler, “The Pickle Guy,” is back again this year with many flavors of pickles.
“Today, we’ve got 16 of our core items,” Stiffler said. “It’s such a unique situation here at the West Virginia Home Show that has a pickle guy here in the middle of tractors, chainsaws, and gardening stuff. It’s a great event. Great people are here, and if you get the opportunity to come out this weekend, you should check it out.”
The Home Show’s hours are 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Ramsey said there is an added bonus to checking out the Home Show’s final two days.
“In addition to our one-stop shop here at the Home Show for anything you may need, we are also giving away a free washer and dryer and a six-foot freezer. You’ll get a raffle ticket when you purchase your ticket at the door.”
Tickets for the 2026 Home Show are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors. Youth ages 15 and under get in free.
