BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. –A new trial was set Wednesday for the grandmother accused in the death of her granddaughter.

Donna Stone, who appeared in Boone County Court Wednesday is set to stand trial for charges of murder by a parent, guardian or custodian by refusal or failure to provide necessities and child neglect resulting in death.
The charges followed the death of Kyneddi Miller, Stone’s granddaughter. Kyneddi was found in her Morrisvale home in April 2024 in an “emaciated to a skeletal state.”
Donna was supposed to go on trial March 17; however, it was rescheduled the week before.
Kyneddi lived in the home with her mother, Julie Miller, and her grandparents Donna and Jerry.
Julie Miller, 51, pleaded guilty to death of a child by a parent by child abuse and was sentenced in February to 15 years to life in prison.
Jerry Stone was found incompetent to stand trial in August 2025 and has since been committed to a mental hospital.
The new trial is scheduled for July 21 at 8:30 a.m.
