Two injured, I-68 reopened following Wednesday morning crash

CHEAT LAKE, W.Va. — Two people suffered minor injuries in an I-68 crash in the Cheat Lake area Wednesday morning.

Deputies from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department were called to mile marker 10 at 6:20 when a Jeep lost control and struck the center median. The collision caused traffic to slow abruptly, resulting in another collision between two cars and a dump truck.

Two people were transported with minor injuries.

The interstate was closed for a little more than an hour during the cleanup and preliminary investigation.

Mon EMS and the Brookhaven Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
