FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. –Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullen says an investigation is underway after a stabbing that occurred earlier this week in the Prudence area of the county.
According to a news release, on Monday, deputies were dispatched after a report that an injured individual had arrived at a residence seeking help. Other calls were also made of a male attempting to enter nearby homes.
The deputies who responded to the call found the victim, an adult male, with a stab wound to the chest.
According to deputies, the victim identified Casey O. Workman as the assailant. The victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
Workman was located a short time later at a nearby residence and arrested.
He is charged with malicious wounding, a felony offense. Officers also executed an active Circuit Court Bench Warrant on Workman.
