CHESAPEAKE, W.Va. — A Kanawha County man is in custody after he was accused of sexual assault by an adult male victim.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said detectives began an investigation Wednesday after allegations were made against George Honaker, 75, of Chesapeake. The victim claimed that Honaker sexually assaulted him twice.
Honaker is a registered sex offender, per the West Virginia State Police Sex Offender website. Honaker was convicted in April 1992 for sexually abusing a female family member between the age of 13 and 17.
Honaker was charged with two counts of incest, second-degree sexual assault, and sexual abuse by a custodian in 1992.
The WVSP Sex Offender site said Honaker served approximately eight years and seven months in a correctional facility for the conviction.
Honaker is being held in the South Central Regional Jail on $50,000 surety bail.
