Four charged in connection with downtown Morgantown assault

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Morgantown Police Department has charged four people in connection with an assault at the University Avenue Sheetz location.

Police allege Teanna Burris, Jarmaine Javon Burris, Jarmaine Ulyses Burris and Myecha White attacked two victims in the parking lot on June 14.

Surveillance video shows Jarmaine Javon Burris punching one victim, knocking him to the ground and continuing to the attack. Teanna Burris is seen striking the victim then lifting his head with his hair while Jarmaine Javon Burris kicked and stomped the victim’s head.

Police said the four attackers walked away until one of the victim sat up. At that point Jarmaine Javon Burris allegedly ran over and kicked the victim in the head.

Magistrate court records show Teanna Burris, 21, is charged with malicious assault and conspiracy to commit an offense against the state. Jarmaine Javon Burris, 22, is charged with four counts of malicious assault and conspiracy to commit an offense against the state.

Bond has been set for each defendant.
