CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Charleston Police say a fight at a party is blamed for the early morning shooting of a juvenile.
According to Charleston Deputy Police Chief Tony Hazelett, police were dispatched to a large party in the 1400 block of 2nd Avenue and simultaneously to CAMC Women’s and Children’s Hospital around 1:45 a.m. At the hospital a 15-year old boy had been shot in the arm. He was evaluated and treated in stable condition.
The teen was shot at the party back on Second Avenue.
“We’re still looking at evidence, but from what we know there were multiple gunshots fired. We’re going through that and some witness statements. We’re hoping to have an arrest by the end of the day,” Hazelett said.
The name of the victim was not released.
