Fayette County crash claims one life

A Fayette County man is dead after crashing his truck into bridge near Danese.

The accident happened on WV 41 around 8 p.m. Sunday.

Police say Franklin D. Terry, of Danese, apparently lost control of his truck and slammed into a bridge.

Officers say the cab and frame of Terry’s truck separated from the bed. Following impact, the bed remained on the roadway, while the rest of the truck hurtled over the embankment.

According to police, Terry became trapped after a slab of concrete tumbled off of the bridge and slammed into the cab.

Firefighters were able to get Terry out of the truck, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, officers said.
