Bond set in Berkeley County abduction case

Robert Anthony Shanton

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Bond was set for one of the men accused in the abduction of an elderly double-amputee veteran in Berkeley County last month.

WHAG reports Antonio Shanton, 23, is to be held on a $300,000 bond after an appearance in Berkeley County Circuit Court yesterday.

Shanton forced his way into a Darkesville home in July and abducted the victim, police claim.

Shanton’s brother, Robert, and mother, Gail Roxanne, have also been charged in connection with this case.
