According to the report, the crash of the Short Bros. & Harland SD3 30 plane occurred at 6:51 a.m. NTSB lead investigator Bill English and others previously reported the plane, owned and operated by Air Cargo Carriers, was traveling from Louisville to Charleston with packages from UPS. Johnathan Pablo Alvarado, 47, from Stamford, Texas, and Anh K. Ho, 31, of Cross Lanes, were killed in the crash.
The preliminary report included no information about weather conditions or the flight plan. English previously said it would take about a year to post a final report and possible cause of the crash. What’s left of the plane is now in Tennessee undergoing further examination.
The plane struck the runway 340 feet after the beginning of the runway threshold. From that first contact point it skidded a total of 650 feet off the left of the runway and down the hillside. A helicopter was used to remove the pieces of the wreckage from the steep hillside.
