HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Three men in connection with a 2022 shooting death in Huntington entered Kennedy pleas on Monday.
Malik Hawk, Lawrence Foye, and Matthew Daugherty entered the plea on charges of conspiracy to commit murder from the November 30, 2022, death of Christopher Johnson.
Johnson, 40, of Huntington, was killed on 9th Avenue in Huntington, and the attorney for the prosecution claims 17 shots were fired in the incident. Johnson was shot twice in the back and once in the leg.
With the Kennedy plea, the three could face between one and five years of prison time. Johnson’s sister was on hand and addressed the court on Monday. She says the development is not justice.
Demarquis Patterson, a fourth person accused of being involved in the killing, is still on the run, according to officials.
