MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — One of the women, who pleaded guilty as a teen, to stabbing and killing Skylar Neese was denied parole for a third time by the West Virginia Parole Board.
Rachel Shoaf appeared before the board on Monday, where they denied her parole again. Shoaf was previously denied in 2023 and 2024.
Shoaf, and her accomplice Sheila Eddy admitted to stabbing Neese, 16, to death on July 6, 2012 after driving to Greene County, Pa.
The pair had tried to bury her body, however they ended up covering it with brush and limbs. Seven months later after the killing, Shoaf had a mental breakdown and ultimately led police to the body.
Shoaf’s cooperation led her to plead guilty to a second-degree murder conviction, and was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with the possibility of parole after 10 years. Eddy was convicted of first-degree murder.
Her next parole hearing is scheduled for June 1, 2027. A projected release date is set for April 30, 2028.
