MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A former doctor with the West Virginia University School of Medicine has been charged with knowingly infecting others with a sexually transmitted disease.
Monongalia County Sheriff’s deputies said John Jacob Pisquiy, 35, is a is a carrier of HSV-2 (Genital Herpes) and intentionally and knowingly exposed and infected other victims through intimate contact.
Detectives said multiple victims told them they were exposed to or had contracted Herpes after having an intimate relationship with Pisquiy over the past two years.
According to medical records, Pisquiy tested positive for HSV-2 multiple times from tests conducted by different clinics, in April 2025 and again in March 2026. The witnesses said Pisquiy hid his exposure to the disease and infection status intentionally. The witnesses said Pisquiy also denied his health situation when confronted.
One of the victims, a woman, allegedly infected by Pisquiy this past January said she was never informed he had the disease.
Pisquiy has been charged with one count of communication of disease and one count of domestic battery and is free on bond.
