RAVENSWOOD, W.Va. — The state Division of Highways is fining a construction company tasked with a bridge project on the Wood-Jackson counties line.
Triton Construction earned the Ravenswood Bridge project with an $11.26 million bid in 2025. Triton was tasked with the deck overlay for the bridge, which takes U.S. Route 33 over railroad tracks, West Virginia Route 68, and the Ohio River.
The DOH said it will fine Triton $1,600 each day the work continues. It was scheduled to be completed by August 18.
Because of the work, Route 68 will remain blocked in that area. Interstate 77 is the detour route.
Triton was also awarded $74.5 million for the Carter Bridge rehabilitation project in Charleston.
